Forest Fringe at the Gate

9 – 21 April 2012
Gate Theatre, Notting Hill, London

Book Tickets

We’re delighted to be involved in this spring in the first ever Gate Guests season at Notting Hill’s award-winning Gate Theatre. This new collaboration has meant that for the first time we’re able to come to London for full two week residency.

Each night will be a miniature festival in itself, featuring a headline act alongside an array of talks, films, music and work-in-progress performances curated by the headline artist. The first week will be headlined and curated by the brilliant writer and storyteller Chris Thorpe, a founder member of Unlimited Theatre. Each night Chris will be telling a different story, by turns funny, harrowing and brilliantly absurd. In the second week you can see dancer Dan Canham with his huge Edinburgh hit 30 Cecil Street, a moving and lyrical evocation of a derelict theatre in Limerick in Ireland.

More details of the other acts involved each night will be released closer to the event. Follow us on twitter (@forestfringe) for announcements.

We’re now hugely delighted to be able to announce the first artists who’ll be joining us Gate, as curated by Chris and Dan themselves:

Week one (Chris Thorpe):

Ira Brand
Lucy Ellinson
Chris Goode
Alex Kelly
Tom Penn
Hannah Jane Walker

Week two (Dan Canham):

Coney
Augusto Corrieri
Sam Halmarack & The Miserablites
Little Bulb Theatre
Search Party
Sleepdogs
Tassos Stevens

The details of what these artists will be doing and when will be announced very shortly, along with a range of other artists as well, but for now we’re really looking forward to welcoming them all, and hopefully yourselves, to the Gate in April.
