Stadium Rock - The Marshmallow Test

17 August, 7pm

On the seat is a little bag. The little bag contains a single pink marshmallow…

In the 1960s a group of four-year olds were tested by being given a marshmallow and promised another, only if they could wait 20 minutes before eating the first one.

The Marshmallow Test has become a cornerstone of research into what is now known as emotional intelligence (EQ) a human quality that has more to do with feelings than education and rationality.

Stadium Rock explore the context and history of the Marshmallow Test, delving into the future possibilities and meanings that might be derived from this experiment.

Stadium Rock are an Edinburgh based arts collective comprising Xana Maclean (performance), Dougal Marwick (sound) and Katy Wilson (visual). Given half a chance, they'd eat the all marshmallows.
