Mischa Twitchin – “I Wonder Sometimes Who I Am”

24 & 25 August, 4.30pm

Created by Tom Duggan, Tom Lyall, & Mischa Twitchin

Taking its title from an observation of Arnold Schonberg's, this performance evokes the composer's thoughts on 'making music with ideas' and 'sounds for the eyes'. With a specially constructed chest of drawers, a performer whose hands alone are seen, and a soundscape featuring fragments of Schonberg's own voice and music, radio reportage, political speeches, and gramophone adverts from the 1930s, the performance draws on the archive of modernism, where the shadow of politics is preserved within the abstractions of art.
